Back to the Double Grind

Work all Day. Work all Night.

The 3 day weekend was nice, and a relaxing day at the day job was nice.

Today it starts again.

But I do have Sunday off.

4 days of 16 hours and a Saturday Night.

Its nice to get the sunday off but starting Monday I will probably get another 50+ days in a row.

My life. AKA The Never Ending Work Week

How long Can one Person go without time off of work?

Before this current streak, I had three weekends off in a row.
May 30-31
June 6-7 & 13-14
But I still worked M-F
On June 15th I started my New Second Job.

Previously to May 30th I had a second job which Started On October 8th, 2009, in which I took the month of January off, but still worked M-F

From and including: Saturday, January 31, 2009
To and including: Sunday, May 24, 2009
It is 114 days from the start date to the end date, end date included
Or 3 months, 25 days including the end date
Alternative time units 114 days can be converted to one of these units:
9,849,600 seconds
164,160 minutes
2736 hours
16 weeks (rounded down)

Before that:

From and including: Wednesday, October 8, 2008
To and including: Wednesday, December 24, 2008
It is 78 days from the start date to the end date, end date included
Or 2 months, 17 days including the end date
Alternative time units 78 days can be converted to one of these units:
6,739,200 seconds
112,320 minutes
1872 hours
11 weeks (rounded down)

So,

In conclusion:

In the last 281 Days, starting Oct. 8th, 2008 to Today, I have worked 252 days.
That is 89.7%
222 of those days were in a row
That is 79%

The average Single job should give you 80 days off in 40 weeks, and I've gotten 29, so only an extra 51 days of work over 10 months.
Maybe it just seems like a lot to me since all my time off came in Jan. and May/June.

Working two jobs is tough, but there is light at the end of the "tunnel"...
No matter how much longer they make the "tunnel".

A New Start to Working More... Again

Today, I am officially on the floor at my new Night job.
I've already done tons of paper work, sat through orientation and read through handbooks.

Little did I know, when I applied for this Part time job, that I would be scheduled 40 hours a week.
So along with my full time day job, I now have a full time night job.

Lets see...

7days x 24hours = 168
2(jobs) x 40 hours = 80
Add on travel time and showers of 1 hour per day = 7

Total

Minimum 87 awake hours and 81 sleep hours

Of course that doesn't really include family time, chore time, unexpected extra work time, or anything else that may come up. I guess if you put it into perspective:
81 hours / 7 days = over 11.5 hours per day

Which is great sleep time. Yet sleep never fails to elude me.
Getting home at 2:30-3am doesn't get me 11 hours of sleep when the 4 year old wakes up at 8am.
Getting home after work at 5:30pm never means I go right to sleep and get up the next morning.
Where do those 11 hours go, and for that matter, where do the extra .57 hours go?

Though comparatively:
Driving 1 hour each way to the old night job and driving 22 minutes to this night job saves on time, stress, sleep and money on gas.
Though the pay is going to be different, last job was tips, this one is hourly.
Last job paid every 2 weeks, this one pays weekly.

Every decision has its consequences.

Did I chose Wisely?

Post Cinco de Mayo, Ocho De Mayo, GIS Freelancer

I'm getting over the "Swine Flu". Not that I ever went to a doctor or was diagnosed or anything, but I was sick and It hasn't gone away. It persists with a Cough and Sore Throat with sneezing.
I don't feel bad, I just can't stop my face from exploding out my mouth.

I did nothing for Cinco De Mayo.

Ocho De Mayo is scheduled for, Duh, Friday May Eighth. Drinks, Karaoke, friends and Strangers.
On the Same day the Green Bay Blizzard have a home game, and I've been hinting around about going to the game instead of the Party.

I'm trying to get out of my Casino Dealing job and into a Closer job. I currently Drive an Hour each way to deal cards at the Casino.
Unfortunately there ain't no tables closer than that.

Anyone Need Some Freelance GIS Data Produced or edited or anything?

Deathly Ill

Since monday afternoon I've been battleing some kind of wicked ailment.
Its not keeping me in bed or from eating or anything.
But my nose is stuffed and I can't hear out of one ear.
My head feels pressure but not a real headache.

I hope it doesn't last much longer.
I might have to call into work tonight.
President says if you're sick, stay home.
Who am I to go against the President.
